What Happens to the Spines of Bipedal Rats?

Scientists will find a way to use lab rats for anything. They’ve even used bipedal rats to study spine injuries, osteoarthritis, and other human conditions.

Are You Standing in the Red Zone?

A red Do Not Walk stop light in East Berlin. Like all pedestrian traffic lights in the area, the light is shaped like an upright man, rather than being a plain red circle.
The USSR tells you to stop standing so much.

This study, and the standing safety guidelines, provides a useful objective assessment tool, and could be a useful data point when discussing workplace accommodations.

How to Find Scientific Papers (for Free)

The truly aggravating thing about digging through research papers is that so many of them are behind a paywall. The good news is that many biomedical papers are freely readable in some form or other if you just know how to find them. Here are my tips for doing so.
